Artists Transform Dubai Marina With Interactive Public Installations

Artist Saadi placed three long interactive murals along Marina Walk in Dubai Marina, each designed so that visitors can sit on the surface and become part of the artwork itself.

These pieces sit within a wider collection of public art and events that draw on both local traditions and contributions from international artists. The installations appear in everyday spaces rather than inside dedicated buildings, allowing residents and visitors to encounter them during normal walks along the waterfront.

Interactive Murals by Saadi

Saadi created the three murals specifically for Marina Walk. Each stretches for a considerable length and incorporates seating areas that turn viewers into participants. The works remain on view at all times, integrated into the daily movement of people along the promenade.

Contemporary Gallery at Marina Gate

Gallery27 operates at Marina Gate, the northern end of Dubai Marina. It opens daily from 10am to 10:30pm and presents contemporary art in a fixed indoor setting that complements the outdoor installations found elsewhere in the area.

Annual Art Festivals and Fairs

The annual Dubai Marina Art Festival converts the Marina walkways into an open-air gallery that displays visual arts, installations and performances by global artists. The Marina Art Fair follows a similar pattern each year, turning the esplanade into a venue for contemporary paintings, sculptures and innovative installations created by both international and local artists.

Traditional Hakawati Performances

Traditional Emirati storytelling known as Hakawati appears in Dubai Marina's public spaces and cafes. Nightly performances take place along The Dubai Marina Walk, while additional sessions occur at Al Seef. These spoken-word events continue a longstanding practice within the same public areas used for the visual installations.
