Completed and ongoing corridor works in Bur Dubai
The RTA has completed all phases of the Al Shindagha Corridor Development Project. The works ensure traffic flow from Al Garhoud Bridge to Port Rashid via the Infinity Bridge and Waterfront Market. A separate 1,425-metre bridge under construction will add four lanes in each direction between Dubai Islands and the Bur Dubai side.
Broader programme figures across the emirate
Dubai is executing 72 major infrastructure projects that cover 226 km of roads, 115 bridges and 11 key corridors, all scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. The AED20.5 billion Dubai Metro Blue Line spans 30 km with 14 stations; main tunnelling began in May 2026. The AED30 billion Tasreef project, approved in June 2024, aims to increase rainwater drainage capacity by 700 percent across the emirate including Bur Dubai.
