Officials at the Roads and Transport Authority reported that one of the completed projects added a 100-metre storage lane intended to raise right-turn capacity by 50 percent. The projects address peak-period movement along routes connected to Sheikh Zayed Road. Local transport planners have noted that the one-way dual roadway configuration allows higher vehicle volumes without additional land acquisition.
