Dubai 2025-2026 Education Reforms Apply to Deira Residents Under National Policy

Deira residents follow Dubai education policy changes for the 2025-2026 academic year because the area has no separate administrative authority for schooling. The reforms include a nationwide AI curriculum introduced from age 4 and school-based assessments that replace centralized second-semester tests.

These updates originate from the UAE Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. They cover public and private schools that follow the national curriculum and apply uniformly across Dubai, including areas such as Deira.

School Operations and Staffing Updates

Project-based learning now extends to all Cycle 2 students in grades 6-9. A standardized proficiency testing system in Arabic, English and maths covers grades 4-11. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority has issued guidelines that set uniform qualification and appointment criteria for new teachers, including those in Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Nine new public schools will open across the UAE to serve 25,000 students with support from 800 new teachers. A Physical Education, Sports and Health Programme is also being introduced in public schools.

Longer-Term Measures Affecting Families

Dubai approved a Vision 2033 education policy package that includes employment pathways for 90 percent of graduates, upgraded student and graduate visa systems, and enhanced international scholarship programmes. These elements are projected to shape post-school options for families with children in the local system.

The government says the policy will provide clearer pathways from education to employment and adjust visa arrangements for students and graduates. Deira residents considering schooling decisions will encounter these changes through the same Dubai-wide framework that governs teacher appointments, assessment methods and curriculum content.
