The legislation states that 15 percent of the total budget must support training programs run by the Dubai Vocational Education Authority, targeting roles in rail maintenance and facility operations.
Residents living within 800 metres of the new stations will see revised bus feeder routes once the extensions open, according to the council's transport impact statement. The same document lists 620 additional parking spaces at the upgraded service centres, intended to reduce midday queuing times at vehicle registration counters.
Next steps and timelines
The government says the policy will move to detailed engineering tenders by September 2026, with the first contracts awarded before the end of the calendar year. Quarterly progress reports will be published on the municipal website starting in January 2027, covering both spending against the AED 850 million envelope and headcount figures for positions created under the measure.
