Dubai Sports Venues Fuel Community Club Growth Across Neighborhoods
New and expanded facilities are giving local groups more options for regular play and social connection.

Dubai Sports World at the Dubai World Trade Centre is open through September 21 2026 and provides 42 courts and pitches inside a 20 000 square metre space along with a free gym and a 1 km indoor track. The venue gives clubs and informal groups a reliable indoor option during the hottest months.
Residents in Bur Dubai and nearby areas take part in city-wide leagues rather than a single neighbourhood competition. Providers such as Duplays run more than 30 social sport leagues that include touch rugby, beach volleyball, mixed netball and corporate basketball. These sessions run Sunday to Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 10 pm at various locations and welcome both individuals and teams.
Recent additions expand access
Dubai Municipality has placed new eco-friendly multi-purpose sports fields with hand-painted artwork at Mankhool Park, Uptown Mirdif and Al Warqa Park. These sites add outdoor options close to established residential districts and allow clubs to schedule sessions without travelling far. The Running League, supported by the Dubai Sports Council, operates from September 1 to April 15 each season and is open to participants aged 5 and older with no membership fee.
Active Sports Community Dubai holds weekly open sessions in football, cricket, badminton and basketball at locations that include Glitch at Al Ghurair Mall near Union Metro Station. Duplays alone lists more than 6 000 members who choose skill levels and play formats suited to social rather than elite competition.
Planned facilities add long-term capacity
Designs have been approved for the Mohammed bin Rashid Stadium in Al Aweer, described as the world’s first fully air-conditioned 60 000-seat venue with an estimated construction cost of AED 3 billion. Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan has also approved two additional 20 000-capacity football stadiums, one for Shabab Al Ahli at Al Rawayyah 3 and one for Al Wasl at Al Jaddaf. Construction continues on the JA Sports & Shooting Club multi-sport hub in Jebel Ali, a facility valued at more than AED 300 million that will include international-standard football, cricket and shooting areas with phased openings expected later this year.
