Duplays, one of the region's largest community sports organisers, reports more than 6,000 members have participated in its leagues since launch, with venues spanning Dubai's neighbourhoods and extending into Abu Dhabi. The roster includes touch rugby, beach volleyball, mixed netball, and corporate basketball, each drawing players from the city's diverse expatriate and local population. Running and Inclusion
For runners, The Running League (TRL) is a free, season-long community initiative supported by the Dubai Sports Council. Running from September 1 to April 15 each year, it is open to runners aged five and older and offers multi-distance options from junior races to full marathon. The Special Olympics UAE Community Unified Sports programme complements the competitive leagues by pairing athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on shared teams for training and competitions, promoting social inclusion.
