Dubai Expands Sports Facilities to Boost Local Fitness Participation

Dubai Sports World at Za'abeel Halls remains open daily with facilities for badminton, basketball, cricket, football, padel, tennis, table tennis and volleyball until September 21.

Approved Stadium Projects

Dubai has approved designs for the Mohammed bin Rashid Stadium, a planned AED 3 billion, 60,000-seat fully air-conditioned venue in Al Aweer. Sheikh Hamdan has approved designs for two new 20,000-capacity football stadiums for Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wasl in Al Rawayyah 3 and Al Jaddaf, along with an increase in capacity at Al Wasl's existing stadium to 25,000 with air conditioning.

Multi-Sport Complex and Park Fields

JA Sports & Shooting Club in Jebel Ali, a AED 300 million complex featuring football, cricket and an indoor shooting range, is under construction and set to open in phases from the end of summer 2026. Dubai Municipality has unveiled newly designed multi-purpose sports fields at Mankhool Park, Uptown Mirdif Park and Al Satwa, developed with partners including Puma and PepsiCo.

The range of indoor and outdoor options now available points to steady community use of facilities for team and individual sports.
