RTA Launches 7 Marine Stations and AI Residences in Business Bay
RTA follows last year's 75 completed projects with seven new marine stations and residential developments slated for Q2 2026.
How we reported this

RTA completed 75 Smart City and AI projects last year in Business Bay and surrounding Dubai areas, covering smart infrastructure, vehicles, data management and sustainable transportation. The authority now advances plans to construct seven new marine transport stations at Business Bay, Dubai Water Canal and coastal areas over the next couple of years.
These steps build on prior work that already placed an UmbraCity umbrella-sharing network at Business Bay Metro Station. The additions aim to expand marine transit services directly into Business Bay and the Dubai Water Canals while integrating with existing metro access.
Marine Transit and Mobility Upgrades
Business Bay serves as the focal point for the seven new stations, which will increase overall marine transit capacity in the district. RTA has already rolled out the UmbraCity network at the Business Bay Metro Station to support pedestrian movement as part of its smart mobility solutions. The stations will connect with the Enterprise Command and Control Centre that oversees Dubai mass transit systems.
The projects align with Smart Dubai efforts now relocating one of four strategic government agencies to the Dubai Design District near Business Bay. That agency concentrates on smart economy, living, governance, environment, people and mobility to create seamless city experiences.
Residential and Agency Timelines
Urban Properties Development launched the $82 million Urban Life Residences in Business Bay, which will include Dubai's first AI-powered gym along with green spaces. Completion is scheduled for Q2 2026. The 300 million AED tower adds to the district's smart infrastructure portfolio after RTA's 75 projects last year.
These developments follow the relocation of Smart Dubai to Dubai Design District and the operational UmbraCity network at Business Bay Metro Station. Residents and commuters can expect expanded marine options and new residential amenities as construction proceeds on the seven stations and the tower reaches its Q2 2026 finish date.
