Downtown Dubai Residents Access Free Mental Health Counseling Through DHA
Downtown Dubai residents can reach no-cost counseling through established walk-in points and hotlines tied to the Dubai Health Authority.
How we reported this
Downtown Dubai launched expanded free mental health access points this week, with two dedicated walk-in locations now open for stress management sessions without appointment fees.
High-rise living and long work hours in the financial district have pushed demand for these services higher in recent months. The Dubai Health Authority reported increased calls to its mental health line during the first half of 2026, reflecting pressure on professionals who live and work near the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.
Key locations for immediate help
One site sits inside the Gate Village complex at the Dubai International Financial Centre, where counselors provide 45-minute sessions on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A second point operates from the community room at the Address Boulevard on Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, offering group stress workshops every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Both spots accept walk-ins and require only an Emirates ID or passport for registration.
The Dubai Health Authority recorded 15,400 visits to free mental health programs across its Downtown-linked facilities in 2025. No payments are collected at either location, though advance booking for follow-up sessions can be made through the authority’s 800-MENTAL hotline.
How to reach the services
Call 800-MENTAL first to confirm availability and receive directions to the nearest point. Staff at the Gate Village desk can also direct visitors to nearby metro exits at Financial Centre station for quick access after hours. Residents who prefer online screening can complete a short questionnaire on the authority website before arriving, which shortens wait times at the Address Boulevard room.
Follow-up appointments remain free for up to six sessions, after which staff issue referrals to paid specialists if longer support is needed. The authority updates its service hours on its website each Friday, so checking before travel avoids wasted trips during peak summer heat.
