Palm Jumeirah's Two Dog Parks Transform Into Social Fitness Hubs
Palm Jumeirah residents combine daily dog walks with group workouts at two key waterfront locations.
How we reported this
More than 300 Palm Jumeirah residents now meet weekly at dog-friendly stretches along Crescent Road and the Shoreline Beach extension for combined walks and circuit sessions that start at 6:30 a.m.
The trend has grown since the Dubai Municipality expanded off-leash hours at selected Palm sites in April 2026, allowing owners to exercise without separate trips to gyms or kennels. Local wellness groups report that the dual-use spaces cut commute time for working professionals who live on the fronds and trunk.
Two main locations draw crowds
Crescent Road Park near the Atlantis roundabout offers a 1.2-kilometre looped path with water stations for dogs and shaded pull-up bars installed last March. Further east, the Shoreline Beach extension at the end of Frond E provides a 400-metre stretch of firm sand where trainers from the Palm Jumeirah Running Club set up resistance-band stations every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
Both sites sit within a five-minute drive of the Golden Mile residential towers, making them convenient for residents who finish work at the nearby Nakheel offices. The municipality added waste-bag dispensers and extra bins at each entrance after complaints about litter in May.
Numbers show steady uptake
The Palm Jumeirah Running Club logged 1,850 dog-accompanied check-ins during June 2026, up from 920 the same month last year. Annual membership for the club costs 450 dirhams and includes access to the twice-weekly sessions plus a monthly vet talk held at the Shoreline site.
Participants are advised to register through the club’s app before arriving, bring their own water bowl, and keep dogs on a six-foot lead outside the marked off-leash zones. Those new to the sessions can join the introductory Saturday walk that leaves from the Crescent Road entrance at 7 a.m.
